Hikkaduwa
Hikkaduwa is a happy town in Sri Lanka’s the south coast. Known for its great beach parties and lazy hammock lifestyle, Hikkaduwa attracts a wide variety of people local and foreign, looking for the perfect beach getaway. Although this laid-back township started as a budget destination for backpackers, at present budget accommodation co-exists side by side with more luxurious accommodations. The clear waters off Hikkaduwa and the reef rich with coral make for an ideal location for snorkelling and diving with many colourful fish and multi coloured coral to enjoy. There are more than four different shipwrecks for diving enthusiasts to explore. Hikkaduwa is also a famous surfing site.
