Colombo – Kandy (Meals – B/-/-)
Tour of Kandy: x The Hill capital of Kandy lies picturesquely surrounded by mountains. Kandy is also the last kingdom of Sri Lanka and is a bustling city. The tour of Kandy includes (Upper lake drive, visit to a Wood carving & Gem shop, Gem Museum, Kandy Bazzar/markets and visit to a Batik Factory).
Visit Temple of Tooth
Cultural Show/Dance:
Head back from Temple to enjoy a cultural show combining the artists from both upcountry and low country traditions. Overnight stay at Kandy (Standard Or Premium Hotel Option)DAY 04
Kandy - Nuwara-Eliya (Meals – B/-/-) After a sumptuous breakfast take a moment to pay gratitude to the wonderful memories that you have made so far. Buckle up and get ready to embark on the next phase of your journey towards Nuwara Eliya. On route, you will notice the change of landscape and will be provided with a chance to visit a tea factory and see how that perfect cup of Ceylon tea is manufactured.
Tea Factory Visit
During the tea factory visit a) you will see the processing of tea leaves and b) how tea is graded. Be sure to take a moment and taste a cup of Ceylon tea and enjoy its aroma and a slight hint of citrus, unique only to the Ceylon blend. Nuwara-Eliya (Meals – B/-/-) After breakfast at the hotel, you have the choice of playing another session of golf or take an optional tour
OPTIONAL: Excursion to *Horton Plains National Park (Optional – USD 35 PP) - allow 5-6 hrs approx.
*Horton Plains National Park (Trekking): Located approx 32 km from Nuwara Eliya, Horton Plains is Sri Lanka’s highest plateau at an elevation of 7,200 ft. Horton Plains became a Nature Reserve in 1969 and was upgraded as a National Park in 1988, due to its unique watershed and bio-diversity features. Its flora has high level of endemism. The two escarpments “Little World’s End” and “World’s End” falling from the Horton Plains 1000 feet and 4000 feet respectively to the land below and the Baker’s Falls, are recommended places to visit. The central mountain is known as the “Cloud Forest”.
