DAY 01

Airport - Bentota

Arrival in Sri Lanka. You will be welcomed by your host and local guide to this magical island. Transferred directly to your hotel in Bentota which will be a two-hour drive along the coast and mainland. Bentota is a coastal town in the Southern Province. With its name derived for a demon (Ben) who ruled the riverbanks (Tota), this bustling city will provide many opportunities for you to immerse in water sports or maybe even to take a dip in an Ayurveda treatment boat.

In the Evening you will be provided with a chance to roam around and relax around the resort to get a glimpse of the wonder that is to come. Maybe at the evening head over to the beach and enjoy the warmth of last sun rays of the day, while enjoying a truly Ceylonese cup of tea.

DAY 02


Pack up your day bag for the day. Enjoy a leisure breakfast at the resort, (do not forget to try the string hoppers) – head over to mangrove boat ride. Reminding swamp monsters you will encounter lazy crocodiles or hunting water lizards. Ride under the thick mangrove growth and be sure to look for preying birds in this still water. Hopefully, you will be able to hop and off through the tiny islands in the grove and really soak some sun.

Next, take your turn visiting Madu River – a shallow water body entering the sea in Balapitiya – which is a paradise for birds and animal enthusiast.

Later, bring out your nature lover and go visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery. Kosgoda Turtle Care program is one of the largest turtle conservation projects operating in Sri Lanka. These wonderful human beings take great pains to collect turtle eggs (usually from villagers who will sell them otherwise) and nurture these innocent little ones until they are ready to go back to sea. They have several wounded and sick turtles and you will be amused at these gentle, swimming giants – in the hatchery. Make sure to visits their one-eyed turtle, he or she is a celebrity.

The rest of the evening is to you to spend leisurely on your preferred activities.

DAY 03

Bentota - Nuwara Eliya

After a hearty breakfast, pack up to visits the ‘little England’ among the misty hills of Sri Lanka.

Surrounded by lush upcountry tea estates, this was the pleasure hub for European planters during the summer. Still, it is embracing its colonial architecture with small boutique style bungalows, with your personal butler.

On route, you will notice the change of landscape and will be provided with a chance to visit a tea factory and see how that perfect cup of Ceylon tea is manufactured.

Tea Factory Visit

During the tea factory visit you will see the processing of tea leaves and how tea is graded. Be sure to take a moment and taste a cup of Ceylon tea and enjoy its aroma and a slight hint of citrus, unique only to the Ceylon blend.

Enjoy a tour throughout the Nuwara Eliya city to visit the famous Nuwara Eliya Golf Course, Victoria Park, Gregory's Lake, and the Seetha Amman Temple.

Nuwara Eliya Golf Club – it is one of the oldest golf clubs in the Asian region, particularly dating back to the British Era. Set up in 1889, this was established for the need of European tea planters, who love to take a swing and mingle over a shot whisky in the evening. You can also try your hand at golf (on direct payment basis). Clubs and shoes are also on hire.

Next, take a stroll in Victoria Park. It is 27 acres of manicured lawns, flower beds and trees. Named after Queen Victoria –this luscious will make you sigh deeply with contentment.

Not to forget the iconic Gregory Lake and the surrounding park. Hire a jet ski, or a paddle boat and take a spin in the lake or retreat into one of the benches and daydream. Or if you are up to a light workout, hire a cycle and take a ride through the park enjoying the lake view.

Seetha Amman Temple is one of the most visited temples in the country. Dedicated to Sita – wife of Lord Rama. Named as the only temple dedicated to Sita, who was held captive by King Ravana (a local genius king), who prayed on to Rama to come and save her.

DAY 04

Nuwara Eliya

After a hearty breakfast, along with a steaming hot cup of tea or coffee – head over to Hakkgala gardens, a botanical espionage for those who love to wander and indulge in a patch of grass.

In the afternoon enjoy a wonderful experience of high tea. Filled with more than 20 different varieties of tea, let your taste buds sing in joy with small delicate pastries, cupcakes and mini sandwiches. Dive in and really enjoy the deep texture of the comfort food.

DAY 05

Nuwara Eliya - Kandy

After a sumptuous breakfast, not to miss that hot cup of tea – hop in and proceed to the jewels of cities among the central province in Sri Lanka. After checking into the hotel, you will be able to enjoy a simple, yet luxurious trip in this cultural town. Be sure to take a moment to sit still and enjoy the tour. Known to be a bustling city with an artificial lake in middle, Kandy is an epitome of the both Sri Lankan and British empires. Considered as the last kingdom city, it is adorned with various traditional arts and crafts which you will discover during your tour.

Temple of Tooth Relic

Temple of Tooth Relic (Dalada Maligawa) is a sacred temple with the history backing down to 1687. The octagonal shape and golden roofs are the most memorable piece of architecture of this place, in which you will be able to visit the Relics of the Lord Buddha. Although the actual tooth is not shown, the casket will be shown twice per day, during the worshipping (Theawawa) hours.

Cultural dance/show

Head back from Temple to enjoy a cultural show combining the artists from bath upcountry and low country traditions. If you try, you will be able to notice the subtle difference of hand movements in the artists, prone to their traditions.

DAY 06


After a hearty breakfast at the hotel take time to relax and unwind. Remembering that you are on a wonderful holiday, enjoying the paradise of the Indian Ocean. Be sure to enjoy our visit to the Woodcarving & Gem shop, Gem Museum, Kandy Bazar/markets and a visit to a Batik Factory while going through the upper lake drive.

DAY 07

Kandy - Colombo

This morning after a breakfast overlooking the lush scenic view of the central province, head over to Colombo. En route, stop at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage established in 1975, in order to take care of a few baby elephants. It is now a 25-acre coconut property adjoining the Maha Oya River. Started with seven orphaned elephants, today Pinnawala is the sanctuary for more than 57 elephants some of who are rescued from dire situations. Make sure to visit them at bath time and see how these little baby giants are rolling in the mud, and when it’s feeding time to see their eagerness to be fed through bottles.

DAY 08


After breakfast take a tour around Colombo. Maybe wear a saree and be adorned with yards and yards of the colourful rainbow platter. No worries on getting a saree (At your own cost), since Colombo is the shopping hub for you to get a saree and even a hassle-free to experience or get it draped with an experienced saree draper in one of the shops. Then roam around in your saree around the city. Colombo is a busy commercial city with both residential tree lined roads and commercial skyscrapers. home to a newly opened city malls , and various shopping districts , be sure to visit the Fort, the former British administrative centre and military garrison, Sea Street - the Goldsmith’s quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, Hindu Temples in the Colombo city limit and the elaborate stone carvings of the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal.

DAY 09

Depart Colombo

Today, take time to wrap up your memories and belongings together. Take a step towards going home and head back to the airport for your departure flight with your hosts.
