Namunukula
Namunukula (meaning nine peaks in Sinhalese) is a mountain range located in the Uva Province of Sri Lanka. Consisting of nine peaks (thus the name), its main peak rises 2,035 meters. A popular hiking spot, it is best traversed during the drier months of the year. There are two recommended routes to the tallest peak; the first starts at the 3 rd mile post on the Passara-Badulla main road which can be reached by vehicle until the base of the mountain, the second being through the Spring Valley tea plantation. At the summit visitors will find a flat land area ideal for camping whilst absorbing the panoramic view of the surrounding plains, misty mountains and lush tea plantations.
The other two trails to the Second highest peak Kirigalpoththa and the third highest Thotupola kanda begin from Horton plains.
