Kirigalpoththa Mountain
The second tallest mountain in the Island rising 2,388 meters, the Kirigapoththa peak can be reached through a nature trail that begins from the Horton Plains. This 3-4 hour hike is one of the most attractive nature trails in Sri Lanka.
Leading to a wet grass land, visitors are welcomed by a dense cloud forest and shrub jungle at its summit. On the way, a bewildering array of wild flowers and lush scrub forests will thrill you during the best months to visit from February to April. The springs of water found on this peak are the water sources of the Belihuloya and Walawe Rivers.
