Cobra Hooded Cave
Legend : ‘The Cobra Hooded Cave’ a part of the historic Sigiriya Rock, derives its name from its resemblance to a opened cobra hood. The walls of the cave were once embellished with floral and animal paintings, traces of which still remain. An inscription found in the cave ‘Parumaka Naguliya Lene’ makes reference to a Chief Naguli and legend states that this refers to Queen Seetha and that she was held in captivity here.
