Beruwela
Beruwala is one of the most popular beach resort towns in the island. One of the longest stretched of beach, fringed by coconut trees on the land side and the vast Indian Ocean on the other, making this an idyllic beach holiday destination.Some of the popular attractions/activities in the area include ayurvedic massages, visits to the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, Kalutara temple, the Kande Vihare temple and the white minarets of the Kechimalai Mosque. Located at the northern edge of Beruwala this mosque is considered to be the oldest mosque on record in Sri Lanka and well worth a visit.
